CHARLES, IL — The historic Arcada Theatre will proudly celebrate its 100th Anniversary on September 6, 2026, marking a century of unforgettable entertainment, cherished community memories and cultural significance in downtown St. Charles.Originally opening its doors on September 6, 1926, the Arcada Theatre quickly established itself as one of the Midwest’s premier entertainment destinations. In its early years, the historic venue welcomed audiences for silent films, vaudeville performances and appearances by some of the era’s most celebrated entertainers.A century later, the Arcada continues to serve as an entertainment destination while preserving the historic charm, character and architectural beauty that have made it a beloved St. Charles landmark.

The celebration will bring together generations of performers, patrons, staff and community members who have played a role in the Arcada’s extraordinary history. The day will feature several special celebrity appearances, including Chubby Checker, Priscilla Presley, Vinny Appice of Black Sabbath and Dio, and Carmine Appice of Vanilla Fudge. The theatre will also give away 3,000 golden tickets with one winner receiving a pair of tickets for LIFE!

3:00 p.m. — Arcada Centennial Parade: A special parade will travel through downtown St. Charles, celebrating the Arcada Theatre’s 100 years of entertainment and its enduring place in the community. The parade will include local bands, community organizations, a fleet of vintage automobiles, national celebrities, a TWIST dance party with Chubby Checker, a re-creation of the parade scene in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and MORE!

6:00 p.m. — The History of Rock ’n’ Roll…The Arcada Theatre Celebrates 100 Years
The Centennial Celebration will continue with a special evening honoring the history of rock ’n’ roll and the legendary performers who have graced the Arcada stage throughout its 100-year history. This special show will showcase music history from the past 100 years, with magnificent highlights from every decade! Special guests include Chubby Checker, Priscilla Presley, Vinny Appice (of Black Sabbath and Dio) and Carmine Appice (of Vanilla Fudge).
