Ladies of the Blues Cabaret Night at Bourbon ‘N Brass Speakeasy with Shirley King

DES PLAINES, Ill.: The bopping blues apple doesn’t fall far from the BB King tree as his daughter Shirley brings her salute to the ladies of blues! We’re taking it back to the original jazz era of the 1920s with a blues cabaret in Downtown Des Plaines at Bourbon ‘N Brass Speakeasy, located on the second floor of The Des Plaines Theatre, to celebrate Women’s History Month on Saturday, March 16 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Shirley will be performing hits from some of the greatest female legends, including Koko Taylor, Mahalia Jackson, Billie Holiday, and Dinah Washington, with a very special tribute to Aretha Franklin.

On this special evening, and every Wednesday and Thursday, you can go back in time to the “Roaring Twenties” when you enter our Prohibition-style Jazz-Era nightclub with authentic antiques, a full bar, and small plates.

“Few blues performances are as fun and real as those when Shirley comes to tear up our stages.” said Ron Onesti, CEO and President of the Des Plaines Theatre.
