CLASSIC ROCK with THE GENERATIONS
January 18 @ 5:00 pm
Founded in 2023 by Chicago musician and philanthropist Rob Stepen, The Generations blends nostalgic 80s rock with modern influences. Their debut album, Alternate View, released in October of 2024, is the product of Stepen’s journey through the 1980s Chicago rock scene. After recording two tracks in 1985, “Have You Seen My Heart” and “Your Way,” the tapes were lost for decades until rediscovered in 2023. The tracks were restored by Steve Albini and Taylor Hales at Electrical Audio, mastered by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Service, and pressed at Third Man Records in Detroit. The album blends the energy of 1980s rock with a modern sensibility, creating a sound that resonates with both nostalgic and contemporary audiences.
Let’s start 2026 with some live music as we “Rock for a Cause” to help fight hunger in the Fox River Valley. With this benefit concert, the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley aims to raise awareness about food insecurity and provide financial support to our local food pantries through our new Food Relief Fund. Proceeds will benefit the following food pantries: Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry, Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry, Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry, Food for Greater Elgin, Loaves & Fishes, Holy Angels Food Pantry, Northern Illinois Food Bank, Kendall County Community Food Pantry, and the St. Charles Salvation Army Food Pantry. Together, we can ensure that local food pantries have the resources they need to provide nourishing, healthy food for families across our community. Everyone deserves a full plate and the peace of mind that comes from knowing where their next meal will come from.
