Justin Hayward is a legendary singer, songwriter, and guitarist best known as the driving force behind The Moody Blues. Over a career spanning more than 50 years, he has helped shape popular and progressive rock music with his distinctive voice and songwriting. He joined The Moody Blues in 1966 at just 19 and quickly made his mark with songs like “Nights in White Satin” and “Tuesday Afternoon” from the groundbreaking album Days of Future Passed, which became a cornerstone of progressive rock. Throughout the late ’60s and early ’70s, the band released a string of hugely successful albums, many featuring Hayward’s compositions, including hits like “Question,” “The Voice,” and “Your Wildest Dreams.” The band has sold over 55 million albums worldwide and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018. Hayward himself was honored with an OBE in 2022. Alongside his band work, he’s had a successful solo career, with highlights including “Forever Autumn” from Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds and multiple solo albums. He has continued to tour and release music into the 2020s. Even after decades of success, Hayward remains active, performing regularly and continuing to write and record.
