PROGNOSIS – TRIBUTE TO YES, KING CRIMSON, PETER GABRIEL, ELP, SUPERTRAMP, TEARS FOR FEARS AND GENESIS WITH SPECIAL GUEST CHARLIE OTTO & HIS GEAR
September 19, 2024 @ 8:00 pm

PROGNOSIS is Progressive Rock at its Finest. It is also an All-Star tribute to the entire genre. PROGNOSIS performs the music of Peter Gabriel, Genesis, YES, Emerson, Lake, & Palmer, Tears For Fears, Supertramp, and King Crimson. Evidently the British were on to something in the seventh decade of the last century! The vision for PROGNOSIS was born out of a copious love for the elements that have become the amalgam of the genre: Folk, Jazz, Rock, and Classical sensibilities matched to challenging time signatures with profound control over captivating tempos and dynamic range––all tempered with unique instrumentation. To say that Progressive Rock is a prolific art form is quite the understatement. The visionaries of PROGNOSIS are founding members, musical partners, and friends Steven Kikoen & Chris Siebold. The presentation of PROGNOSIS is a complete theatrical event. The group has dedicated itself to the immaculate recreation of seminal Prog-Rock Masterworks––along with modern takes on Prog, accompanied by a comprehensive multimedia visual component––as well as a breathtaking light and laser-light show that are leaving audiences spellbound. PROGNOSIS is Steven Kikoen (Time Zone, Deacon Blues, Abbey Road, Big Suit, Supernatural, The Great Pretenders, Retro Radio); Chris Siebold (Psycles, Kick The Cat, Garrison Keillor, The Great Pretenders); Jon Paul (Tributosaurus); Andrew Lawrence (District 97); Tom Hipskind (Deacon Blues, Hamilton); Gregory Fundis (Fareed Haque, The Great Pretenders, Led Zeppelin 2); John Bowes (Abbey Road), Suzanne Cross (Deacon Blues, The Great Pretenders), and Ray Quinn (40,000 Headmen).
Charlie Otto has been a Chicago favorite for 15 years, and he’s just now coming to accept that. The founder of the cult darlings This Must be the Band and DJ noDJ, he’s sold out venues around the United States and has had the honor of playing alongside many amazingly talented people including some of his musical idols, such as Umphrey’s McGee, members of King Crimson, and Smashing Pumpkins. “Charlie Otto + His Gear” is his first solo project, running on the cutting edge of both music and video performance. Almost no one else is spontaneously using their guitar in a solo format to generate what you see on the screen, or turning a knob to both modulate a synth and distort the images of a video. The technology to connect the sound and visuals to this degree has only recently been developed, and with the help of video guru DRMBT, Charlie experiments and pushes this tech forward on every show.
