THE MUSIC OF CHICAGO WITH DANNY SERAPHINE (ORIGINAL DRUMMER OF CHICAGO) AND CTA with SPECIAL GUEST DIRTY DAN BUCK AND THE BOYZZ
January 24 @ 8:00 pm
In the beginning, there was Chicago Transit Authority. Danny Seraphine, along with his bandmates set out to change the face of Rock and Roll by creating a rock band with horns. During his tenure with Chicago, they scored 20 top 10 hits, (5 reaching #1) and 10 Grammy nominations. He is considered the father of jazz rock drumming. In 2006, Danny came full circle, forming California Transit Authority (CTA). They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, evidenced by all the Chicago cover bands out there. Why settle for an imitation when you can have the real deal?? This show features top hits from three decades including “Saturday In The Park”, “You’re The Inspiration,” “Make Me Smile,” “Just You and Me,” “Hard For Me To Say I’m Sorry” and so, so many more!
With the wind burnt collar of his leather jacket turned up against the night, his brown hair now giving way to a more distinguished silver tone, his faded blue jeans comfortably fit, Dan Buck’s rough-hewn exterior recalls that of the neighborhood rebel in 1978. Having been signed to Epic Records in The Boyzz – releasing the hit LP: “ Too Wild To Tame” (The Boyzz – 1978), Dan Buck is back as “One of the Boyzz” in his tight and Red Hot six-piece “Rock N’ Soul band: One Of The Boyzz – The band features Buddy Wiegelman on guitar, Joe Gagliardo on bass, Jimmi Perrino on keyboards and organ, Scot Kelly on drums, and EZ Dave Haines on Sax and harmonica. They have been ripping up festivals, concerts and clubs throughout the Midwest.
